People like to talk about themselves. That person can feel they've established a close relationship with you not based on your traits but the fact that you listen. All people want is someone who will listen to them. They don't want to hear your advice, or your criticism. They just want someone to listen and care. You might try to bring up a certain detail of your day and somehow they will manage to relate it back to themselves. I'm starting to think and believe that it's true. Everyone is for themselves. No one will admit it.
